GREY HAIR CRINKLED SKIN
Grey hair, crinkled skin!
When did old age become a sin?
Hide all the things we’ve learnt with age?
Discard all our years and turn the page?
We’ve seen it, we’ve done it, we’ve earned all the scars.
Don’t discard us or mock us like mangled old cars.
See all these lines as life’s gained degrees.
In work life, in family, in hardship and sailing those seas.
Celebrate each grey we’ve grown every one.
See them as wisdom and all we’ve become.
Embrace all our quirkiness and the ‘new things’ we don’t know.
Accept our bodies as old they do grow.
Treat us special and hold us up high.
Because one day my friend we’ll bloody well die!
With love, Glynnis x
