ONWARDS & UPWARDS
En route to visit my fitness trainer this morning, I was aware that, as it was a nice day, we would probably be working outdoors, more likely than not, going for a run! Eek! I’d managed 3K last time out, but knowing Ursula*, she would be expecting more. Double eek!
My Thursday morning meditation class had gone beautifully, and I was feeling relaxed, but relaxed might not cut it for this session, so I practised a breathing technique, concentrating on the flow of breath and filling up my body with clean, fresh air. Remembering that – Breath equals oxygen, oxygen equals fuel, fuel equals energy. On arrival, I felt good to go; my suspicions were correct and off we jogged.
Although I had niggles in my body and I found it difficult at times, I focused on the breath and used mindfulness to help me through and to my amazement, I managed a 4K run. Woop Woop!
This for me, is massive!
During my illness, it made me so sad that I wasn’t able to exercise; it was a huge loss for me, so I am delighted today that my body is not only maintaining fitness but actually improving. The many meditation techniques and the expert guidance of Ursula is a winning combination. I truly believe that in life, things come together at the right time.
So thank you and ‘hats off’ to Ursula for using her knowledge, patience, encouragement and skill in navigating a way through for me and my recovery to physical fitness.
Onwards and upwards!
With love,
