5 WAYS TO BEAT EXAM STRESS

So much emphasis is placed on exam results, resulting in intense pressure on students. My philosophy is simply  ‘do your best’ and stay true to yourself. Remember, exam time is just a tiny pocket of time in your whole life.

1. Meditate before and after studying & before and after exams, 3 deep breaths in and out, placing all your focus on your breath. – It helps you learn fast & retain knowledge longer, without getting distracted.

2. Take a short walk – clinical tests prove that a walk will help increase your brain power and memory.

3. Talk to friends and family – try not to become overwhelmed, a chat will bring back perspective. Have a good laugh too, releasing happy hormones will help combat stress.

4. Get enough sleep – sleep helps your brain to assimilate new knowledge into your long-term memory so that you can recall it when it comes to test day.

5. Eat good food – digesting junk food uses more energy. Look at your food and ask yourself what benefits it has. If you fancy a treat, 70%  dark chocolate fights the stress hormone cortisol and has an overall relaxing effect on the body. Plus, chocolate releases endorphins, which act as a natural stress fighter.

Good luck all X
