6 WAYS TO ACHIEVE A PHYSICAL CHALLENGE

I’ve just completed the ‘half mile’ in The Great North Swim, in memory of our dear friend, David Benjamin, and to raise money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation. My lovely friend, Sue, texted me on Friday and reminded me that 3 years ago to the week, she was on holiday and visited me every morning, when I was struggling just walking from the dining room to the decking. She wished she could have told me then what I was about to achieve!

1. Think positive! Two words that are used a lot and with good reason. They are so powerful. Think! Believe! Achieve!

2. Take lessons from an expert. Thank you to Lee Read for his patience and skilled guidance.

3. Have good friends around you. Never underestimate the strength you give to others or that they give to you. Much needed on this challenge with the fear of water and the removal of wetsuits!

4. Prioritise other tasks in your life to give yourself time to train.

5. Eat the right foods; you really are what you eat.

6. Practice an easy breathing technique; the more oxygen you get in your body, the better you will perform. You will be able to clear your head, reduce anxiety and visualise yourself at your strongest.

With luck and love,

Glynnis
