TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS
I’m well-versed in the healing powers of meditation. Using the power of the mind to maintain or restore good health. I have tried many alternative techniques in my quest for wellness and my latest new best friend is my singing bowl. Bowls come in varying sizes and the different size allows the bowl to ring or sing to a different frequency.
The brain connects with the unique sonic tones and the pitch resonates with the whole body to facilitate healing. The beautiful sounds help our brain to move into the theta state, the brainwave that induces deep meditation, facilitates peace, clarity and intuition.
We hear the sound but also feel the vibration. It is felt with every part of our body, on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. The vibration moves through the body, helping to heal disease.
I’m a novice in the art of bowl ringing and singing, but what I can say, is that the feeling in my body is real, a great sign that my bowl is of good quality but more importantly, my mind and body are responding to the healing tones.
I’m dedicating this blog to my lovely friend Alex Schneider, who kindly loaned me her bowl and striker. She reacted with grace and humour when my dog Nora chewed the striker. I did replace it, and thankfully, the new one rings and sings better than the original.
Thank you, Alex.
